In April 1998, Dr. Winning established Winning Veterinary Service in Red Bluff. After graduating from Veterinary School in 1991, Dr. Winning immediately went to work in the field. Seven years later he decided to open his own hospital in Los Molinos. Dr. Winning has proven that hard work and determination does pay off. Starting in the Winning family home, Mill Creek Veterinary Hospital eventually grew out of its surroundings. Although his clients enjoyed the family atmosphere and watching his three young daughters grow up Dr. Winning knew to better serve his patients he needed to move his practice.
After selecting the perfect commercial building for Mill Creek Veterinary Hospital Dr. Winning discovered that traditional banks would not provide the financing he needed. Banks tend to value the building at a lessor rate, instead of the realistic replacement rate of the building. Veterinary hospitals require specialized flooring and ceiling materials that increase the value of a building, which his bank did not take into consideration. Dr. Winning was ecstatic to be referred to 3CORE from a local banker. He knew this partnership could lead to really good things.
“3CORE totally helped out by filling in the gaps left by our commercial bank,” Winning said. “The $75,000 allowed us to put in fencing, an x-ray machine, kennels, and an upgraded computer system. Not to mention the 3CORE staff watched out for all my business needs and not just on the financing end of things.”

They are currently creating a garden area off the exam room to maintain comfortable, peaceful surroundings for their clients. Mill Creek Veterinary Hospital is sold on the 3CORE team. They envision expanding their facilities even further in the future to include pet boarding services and the hiring of an additional doctor.
“We will definitely go back to 3CORE when we pursue our next expansion,” Winning said. “We have found them to be unique in that they are willing to help where other traditional banks either can’t or won’t.”
